Name: Edmond Dantes

Appearance: Edmond is around average height - 5'8' - and has a decent build for a man his age. His dark hair is shoulder-length and wavy, and he also keeps a neatly-trimmed goatee. As for his complexion, Edmond is incredibly pale. Since he was 19, he stopped going outside very often, and was already fairly pale as it was, so since he moved to Rapture, he has become even paler, though the lack of sunlight doesn't bother him much at all. Able to afford the nicest things, Edmond always dresses his best, ranging from regular suits to luxurious silk robes for evenings alone at home.

Personality: Most common people tend to find Edmond quite mysterious. Even some of those who do know him are curious as well, since he tends to not let anybody get too close to him. However, he's not at all a hermit or a loner. Edmond is very polite and actually quite charming. He's also incredibly smart, knowledgeable on a wide variety of topics, and specializing in chemistry. His charm plus his intelligence combined makes Edmond quite capable of manipulating others, which he does do when he feels it is necessary.

Backstory: Edmond doesn't like to talk about his life on the surface, especially before he was 24. He grew up in Marseilles, France living a happy life; it wasn't anything special at all, but he seemed to have his life set out for him, until someone - a friend, no less - accused him of being a Nazi spy. Though he was only 19 and hardly knew a thing about politics, he was still found guilty and thrown into prison. However, in prison Edmond met a scientist who used to work for the government. This man taught him a wide variety of things during the 5 years Edmond spent in prison. When he was 24, Edmond had the opportunity to escape, and he did.

Not long after, the scientist died and left everything to Edmond, since he had no other family and had become attached to the young man. Edmond built upon the knowledge and money he received from the scientist, and it wasn't long before he became quite wealthy and established good connections in high society. When he was 31, not long after Rapture was built, he was personally invited by Andrew Ryan to live in this underwater city. Of course, this was not an opportunity that he could turn down!

Starting Plasmids: Edmond prides himself on his natural ability to do well, and has decided to forego plasmids for the time being.

Occupation: Primarily a chemist, currently trying to concoct some type of drug worthy to be in competition with ADAM.
